Action figures and superhero toys: sizes, ages and what moves

Superheroes are the most-asked-for toys for boys aged 3 to 10, and plenty of girls love them too. The choice is wide, so here's how to pick the right size and type.

Sizes explained

What moves?

Most figures move at the shoulders, hips and neck. More detailed figures add elbows, knees and wrists. Younger children are happy with 5 moving points; older children and collectors look for more. The product photos and description show what each figure does.
