Toys and gifts girls love, by age: dolls, doll houses, kitchen sets and crafts

For girls aged 1–3 pick soft baby dolls and push-along toys; at 3–5 kitchen sets, doll houses and dress-up; at 6–8 fashion dolls, Barbie and craft kits; and at 9–12 jewellery and art kits, games and building sets. Every child is different, so start from what she already loves.

"What should I get for my niece?" is one of the questions we hear most. Here's what girls ask for at each age in our shop. Treat it as a starting point: plenty of girls love cars, dinosaurs and science kits too, so start from what she already enjoys.

Ages 1–3

Soft baby dolls she can hug and carry.
Musical toys: toy phones, cameras and little pianos with lights and sounds (from about Rs 990).
Push-along and stacking toys for new walkers.

Ages 3–5
